I originally built a setup for gaming, codenamed NEO. There was not any intention of making it a customac, however, given the fully compatible hardware, I added up to the Windows 7 and Ubuntu, also the Mavericks boot.

I followed the instructions with OS X Mavericks, legitimate copy, and they went straight forward after a false start due to a bad USB device. Absolutely noticeable is that the hardware is totally compatible with UniBeast, just plain follow the instruction to Install Mac OS 10.9 Mavericks with UniBeast.

I knew that my Wi-FI card was not going to work, TPLink-Wireless-N-300Mbps-PCI-E in fact is so. I will buy a compatible wifi card ASAP, for now using a Bluetooth dongle to access a shared internet connection from another iMac.

The case is a 14 years old Chieftec Dragon, a very good case guaranteeing a solid cooling due to front and back fans. An additional fan is on the lower side of the case, to bring toward the top the fresh air. The mac runs cool even at overclocked speed of 4.2 Ghz.

Thanks Tony and the staff for the great job!

Just overclocked via bios! It seems that the z87 is really a sweetspot. Even the computer stop and thermal control work flawlessly.
NEO (its the code name of this build) just stops and restarts in few moments the overclock works pretty well, scaling perfomance seamlessly.

I am currently out, I'll check on saturday and tell!

>> UPDATE: I added ethernet support to allow my App store account to connect and recognise this machine, via bluetooth dongle it failed to connect.

@Nikezz: I checked in Activity Monitor but no mention of "Turbo Frequencies". Maybe you are referring to an external downloadable software ?

Yes I referred to kozlek's HWMonitor Tool - you usually install this with Multibeast - I think it's below the FakeSMC you need the plugins and Tool - It'll allow you to read temps and voltages and clock speeds - it's pretty useful and you can see if you Speedstep and turbo works

New update: I changed the wi fi card to the TL-WDN4800 and wi-fi works like a charm. No hassle: plain and simple installation, at booth mac os recognized the new hardware, then I simply activate it via System Preferences -> Network and found wi-fi.
Then went to the top menu bar, scanned for networks, entered the password and connected.
Wonderful.

Regarding HWMonitor Tool, I am still not able to find it. I open Multibeast, but then find the usual menus above (Quick Start, Drivers, Bootloaders, Customize, Build) and in column Audio, Disk, Graphics, Misc, Network and System.

Now PowerNEO is a real power: the Sabertooth, i5 4670k and Vapor-X GPU work flawlessly at 4.2 Ghz.
Thanks to the user community for this wonderful site.

See the MultiBeast Features document, page 6, or at MultiBeast.com.
