Can you upload your EFI

Thank you mate, did you installed it with unplugged 5700XT in PCIe slot or used integrated graphics only to install?

The issue is that I can't install macOS properly because my installation screen is having green lines and I can't get my mouse cursor over the buttons because it works as a giant square :)

I had success with the same hardware and since the author of the post didn't upload the EFI folder, I'm uploading mine (with the required boot flags)

The only change I made before uploading was to generate new serial numbers to avoid duplications.
Thank you for the EFI file, i have exactly the same setup apart from the GPU, i plan on using Intel Integrated Graphics, is there anything i need to do to make this work? i will be attempting when i get home later tonight.

I previously had Mojave working but was missing some graphic smoothness (dock looked weird etc).

Hi, thanks for sharing, do you have any issue when opening Chrome or Slack for example with this EFI conf ? I'm having an issue which seems to come from my RX5700 because if I replace with a VEGA 64 everything works smooth !

The issue appears when you wake the computer from sleep state, then log back in and open Chrome > Mac OS freeze and restart after few seconds.

Actually, after using for a couple of weeks I have noticed the same behavior.

I don't remember exactly if my cable was on the motherboard or the GPU, I'd try both and if you do not use the 5700XT remove the "agdpmod=pikera" flag before booting.

Yeah thanks, already installed and still testing everything out. After waking up from sleep (3-5 hours) everything freezes still investigating this.

Are you using whatevergreen.kext?

Yes, I am! I'm having random freezes too (I just had one), still didn't investigate why.

Well seems like we all having this issue :/...Heard about adding -wegoff in boot flag might fix the issue for some config...didn't do the trick for me though.

Otherwise guess will have to wait for Catalina 10.15.2 release.

I updated the Whatevergreen and Lilu to recent latest versions and unticked "Put hard disks to sleep when possible" in Energy Saver settings and looks like everything is ok now but needs some more time to test though. I'm not using -wegoff argument.

A lot of us were having this problem last month and @pastrychef, @piano08man, and @iDrakus shared their configuration and EFI folders to see where the issue was for the AMD 5700XT. Back then I started to have the same freezing issue where I was able to move the mouse, but this static graphic effect would occur on the pointer accompanied by this loud static noise. Often it will just stay frozen and the sound will continue until you restart. You can find the post here: [Solved] 10.15.1, updated kexts, pastrychef-verified EFI, 5700XT freezes in OS

My configuration is a little different, I have three GPUs installed into my system, I have two AMD Radeon 5700XTs in main PCIE slot and the second GPU in the lateral PCIe ribbon cable and a thrid GPU which is a Nvidia 2070 Super (Mainly used in my windows system). I have 64 GB of g.skill RAM and a Asus Z390 e-gaming with an i9 9900K processor and two 4TB SSDs installed in the tower. I mainly use this for 3D renderings (maya, 3ds, Cinema4D, Keyshot) video editing and photo editing.

I followed @iDrakus configuration and for at least 3 weeks I had no issues at all and I was running on the official Mac OS Catalina 10.15.1 release. However a few days ago I ran into the issue again. I honestly have no idea what is causing this issue, I have went into BIOS tried troubleshooting switching CSR on and off, changing the DRAM frequency, switched to multiple displays and change from 64 to 128 and yet still having issues. I updated to the most recent Whatevergreen.kext and Lilu.kext and still freezes. So that leads me here:

I went and updated to Catalina 10.15.2 Beta 3 last night and it did run smoothly for a few hours before coming to a complete halting as I was just searching on chrome. So Im stuck trying to troubleshoot this issue.
