Comments / Installation Method

I followed tonymacx86's awesome guide with minor tweaks to successfully get OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 installed.
http://www.tonymacx86.com/374-unibeast-install-os-x-mavericks-any-supported-intel-based-pc.html

I configured UniBeast to use Legacy USB Support as processor is 1156.
I used this Boot Flag to get the UniBeast Flash Drive to Boot: -x GraphicsEnabler=Yes.
In MultiBeast I clicked:
EasyStart and select EasyBeast
Bootloader and select the latest Chimera
Customize and selected GraphicsEnabler=Yes under Boot Options,Mac Pro 3,1 under System Definitions

If you get a boot0: GPT error follow this:

-Boot with your UniBeast flash drive and open Disk Utility.
-Select your Boot HDD and Unmount it.
-Now open Terminal
-type diskutil list
-Look for your Boot HDD's Identifier and your UniBeats's NAME. Make note of both.
-type dd if=/Volumes/UniBeastDriveNameHere/usr/standalone/i386/boot1h of=/dev/Boot HDD *

* Replace the text in the command above with the Boot HDD's Identifier and your UniBeats's NAME.

If you have any suggestions to improve on this or similar build using the Biostar H55HD please let me know. =)

An olde, but goodie.

Has anyone attempted DSDT edits for the Biostar TH55HD or similar Biostar motherboard? I am testing Mojave on the TH55HD (Socket 1156) with Intel I5-660. To install Mojave, I extracted the DSDT (CLOVER F4) and performed bare minimum edits to resolve MacIASL compile errors. I then applied a few basic DSDT patches and created a Mojave Installer USB with CLOVER (Legacy) boot loader. The install went well and the I5-660 HD Graphics works natively in Mojave at 1280x1024 (although a little slow since there's no graphics acceleration). I've seen enough to decide that the work to edit the DSDT and the money to buy a RADEON graphics card might be worth it.

Some basic patches don't work for the Biostar TH55HD, because the Biostar DSDT naming convention doesn't match the patches. If anyone has successfully edited the DSDT for the TH55HD or similar Biostar motherboard, could you post you DSDT so that I could see what/how you renamed and applied patches? Also helpful would be a translation of BIOSTAR DSDT naming convention to the DSDT names expected by the DSDT patches.

Thank you.

I had a few more minutes to play with Mojave on the Biostar TH55HD with I5-660 CPU. I originally had my Product Model (SMBIOS) set to iMac 14,2 - speedstep wasn't working and my CPU was stuck at 9x multiplier. After a bit of research, I found that the closest Mojave-supported system for me is the MacPro5,1 (Intel Westmere which includes the Clarkedale family). Changing my Product Model to MacPro5,1 enabled speedstep and my CPU is now switching from 9x to 25x multiplier.

EDIT: I disabled "Generate CStates" and "Generate PStates" in Clover config.plist. Now, CPU frequency goes up to 26x multiplier (turbo) and temps are low. Mojave CPU management works on the I5-660 without any clover configs. I started a thread for Mojave on my Biostar TH55HD: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/mojave-on-biostar-th55hd-socket-1156.268254/#post-1879635
