[Success] Asus Z170i Pro Gaming - Sierra 10.12.5

i know the gpu is compatible i have it working with EmuVariableUEFI-64.efi and RC script.

i havent been able to get the web drivers to work out of the box without using clover installer to patch because i have to figure out why NVRAM is not functioning, after every reboot the display settings revert to default similar to on gigabyte boards.

You should try doing a clean install with the 530 HD one and then with nv_disable=1 installing the GPU.

Just bought Airport bcm94360cs2 and an m.2 adapter for using Wifi-Bt. When it arrives I will be updating the post if it works!

yea i was thinking of that, i will try tomorrow, i will have to see if OStype in bios is set to other, thats why i got this board to use display port with my 1440p monitor then nvidia released drivers for 1000 series.

On the BIOS you have selected Dedicated GPU, haven't you?

The card works fine - I use it for windows gaming. I read a post suggesting that the BIOS update; version 3020 destroyed the ability to save variables in NVRAM since Windows/Linux saves it to disk which is what that patch (Problem 6) does.

There is a way to test if NVRAM is working in this post which I will try in the morning.

What version is your BIOS? I'm wondering if I should get the BIOS chip on eBay or update.

I do have the latest BIOS, actually pretty razonable due to the fact that the mobo was bought last month..

C-states working with this config?

At insanelyMac they have this command to test nvram,

In Terminal type:
Code:
sudo nvram MyVar=TestValue
Then type this to show the current NVRAM:
nvram -p
You will see:
MyVar TestValue
After rebooting, type nvram –p in Terminal, and, if you can still see the previous result, then your NVRAM is working.

Anyway, I tried Solution 6, and, then, your post above, and I have Intel USB 3.0 working at 5 Gbps, just need to sort out some other things before I report back.

EDIT
So I have everything working. Sleep is now working due to inserting productKey. USB ports working but the red 3.1. (I opened MultiBeast and installed 3rd party USB.) Does not display in system report. I have not checked about increasing max port limit.

Sorry, I think I have lost myself, did you just said you have USB 3.0 at 5 Gbps??? How?? Any screenshot from BlackMagicSpeed Test??? *-*

i used this tutorial to check
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/quick-guide-to-generate-a-ssdt-for-cpu-power-management.177456/

also checked with intel power gadget, sleep is working so I expect it to be fine.
with a kilowatt sleep is under 4watts, idles around 45watts.

I have been reading some info about this and found nothing really understandable, what is that for? any improvement? :/

Here is my benchmark with USB 3.0 speeds on a laptop WD drive.
The red USB 3.1 ports did not work at first. Then, I installed the drivers again, and the results are similar. They do not show up system info/USB so that maybe the issue.

Could you please explain the device you used for testing (the HDD or Drive on 3.0) and what solution 6 you used? I only get 60 mbps on 3.0

Excelent work!
