is it possible to proceed without an external USB 3.0 drive slot?

Of course! If you don’t want to use it you can disable it. USB 3.0 is not a prerequisite but it is handy for setting up this system.

Catalina should work with Opencore and the onboard graphics of the cpu You just purchased.

If you have a supported graphics card, you are likely to be successful even with Big Sur. I have it running on a Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 motherboard which is based on the same Z68 chipset. An Nvidia GT 710 with GDDR3 memory is what I use for a graphics card and is supported out of the box. Not a gaming card but, supports metal and works well.

Thanks for your support. I have an Asus gt610 silent 2gb, I started the installer in verbose and without inject invidia options.
after the first part of the installation i get the following error in verbose: link down on en0

probably the kext of the lan is missing?
How can I proceed now?

Try to run the installer without the Nvidia card plugged in and run it with nv_disable=1 in the boot-args settings. That will work better.

Secondly if you don’t have the IntelMausiEthernet.kext for the Ethernet you’ll need to download this or use Multibeast to add this to your EFI/Clover/Kexts/Other folder and add it using the Clover Configurator MountEFI function.

I installed the kext AppleIntelE1000e.kext v3.3.6 on el capitan and It worked.

I have tried the second part of the High sierra installation and I am always stuck in a black screen

i added nvcap, ig platform info and all the information i have in elcapitan config

Hi Middleman, thanks for your reply. I tried the new hardware on old el capitan hd (Using the same kexts as the previous hardware: p5q, q6600, gt610) and it starts up, but also on el capitan ethernet doesn't work. I have tried almost all versions of IntelMausiEthernet.kext. I also deleted the Networkpreferenceslist, with no results.
I will try to install AppleIntelE1000e.kext, I will keep you updated.

I tried various versions of IntelMausiEthernet, on El capitan after reboot I have to disconnect and reconnect the cable to have internet. I spent many hours looking for the problem, do you have any advice?
