Anyone attempted to install Sierra on an OptiPlex 7010 yet? I need some help.
Sierra installs and runs well on the Optiplex 7010 USFF (Ivy Bridge i5-3475S with Intel HD 4000 graphics).
The machine currently boots very slowly (takes about 75 seconds from an SSD drive to get to the login screen) but I have yet to try any DSDT and SSDT patching. The video flickers a few times during the initial login but it's smooth after that. I believe there is a DSDT patch to fix this. About This Mac shows Intel HD Graphics 4000 with 1536MB memory. I believe QE/CI is active. For ethernet support, I installed the IntelMausiEthernet.kext (latest version) via MultiBeast.
I have yet to get the built-in audio output jack to work. I tried toleda's script (audio_cloverALC-120.command) and setting audio to the Realtek ALC269 but that didn't work. I then tried installing the VoodooHDA driver (via Multibeast) but that's not working either. Maybe I have to restore the original AppleHDA.kext before VoodooHDA.kext starts working?
My temporary/possibly final solution when it comes to audio is to use of an external USB 2.0 stereo (C-Media chipset) audio adapter that I have lying around (SYBA SD-CM-UAUD which retails for under $10). I plug it in, it's automatically detected and is listed as an available sound output device. Alternatively, I can also route audio using a USB Bluetooth dongle to a wireless Bluetooth speaker.
Install hints:
- use UniBeast to create a UEFI USB installer thumb drive
- disable the serial port, virtualization features and legacy boot in the BIOS
- boot the USB installer thumb drive in UEFI mode
- in Clover, change the boot Options to check off (i.e. enable) these two settings before booting into the installer or macOS Sierra:
PCI Devices -> USB Ownership, USB Injection
I hope that helps.
