they're not supporting other company products, they're supporting their own product to be compatible with standards that allow it to interact with other company products.
that's like saying they you don't know that apple sells computers that use software from other companies.
So you are saying that Apple should produce drivers for every bit of kit that you may want to use with one of their products?
I use an Epson SC-P800 printer. Apple does not produce any drivers for that. Epson produce the drivers. Their are lots of people on here who use Apollo Audio Interfaces for example, Apple does not produce any drivers for them, the manufacturer does that, in this case badly for Big Sur.
It is usual for the manufacturer of the add on to produce the driver for their kit to enable it to work with the OS, in our case macOS. Nearly all manufactures produce the drivers for Windows, and, to a far lesser extent Linux.
I suspect that Apple is waiting for AMD to produce and deliver the drivers to them and they will then include them in their update, as they do for past products.
Just a recommendation, from my own personal feeling. People really should wait for the support before purchase. So many people rush out to buy due to "demand" only to wait a year or never. New GPUs are neat, but if you want to use these outside the normal market (as in Hackintosh) it will come with risk and caveats.
I think most people who only use Hackintosh don't upgrade to the latest and greatest GPU etc. If they are dual booting with Windows then why should they wait until drivers are available for both OSs? At least they can use it with Windows whilst waiting for macOS to be updated, if ever, as I have. I use the 6900 in Windows and an old 580 if I want/need the acceleration. Even then most of the time the 6900 is ok for what I am doing in BS - Excel, Word, gPodder etc have no need for the acceleration.
