Stupid question: Would an actual Apple wireless mouse and/or keyboard work?

My mouse is misbehaving so badly I'll have to head to Fry's to get something to replace it in just a few minutes, but before I do, I have a stupid question: Would an actual Apple wireless mouse and/or keyboard work?

It wouldn't would it? Because it'd need to have the necessary electronics inside of an iMac or something officially Apple to receive the signal, right?

A quick glance at the Apple Store shows nothing about a receiver contained with the Magic Mouse, so I'd assume anything it'd connect to would be internal. Would you agree?
