I started on my 2nd. Hackintosh Project after some years now (1st one was a iMac G4)
My starting point is a G4 Quicksilver Case which I got for free and now I want to send my MacPro 2013 into retirement, an GPU upgrade with an external GPU makes no sense for my Monitor so I decided to go for something new.
The future setup will be:
Board: ASUS ROG Strix Z490-G Gaming WiFI Mainboard
CPU: intel i9 10900kf
RAM: Kinston 2*16GB
GPU: Nvidia gForce 105i
Water-cooling
and the G4 Quicksilver case
I startet with the case and tare it into all its parts
I decided not to use the Hive-Kit for the board and did it own my own with the old chassis and made so that it can be used with a std. mATX board
I painted also the metal case in black
I grinded all plastic parts before i painted them with a primer.
Then I painted the front, back and top and apple logo parts parts in black and the side panels in white
The Result is quite pretty and I really love it since the case is reassambled.
I hope that tomorrow arrive my ASUS board so that I can finalize the assembly to start on the tosh itself.
The control-keys I can use all i used minihacks how-to here (and a test with a old Board was successful) Thanks Minihack
for this great workout here.
I will post more once I can go on with it and the hardware is in place...
