Stork's MyHero II Build: ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z370 HERO X - i7-8700K - AMD RX 580 - Thunderbolt 3

Come to think of it, I can't remember if I've used iMessage recently, but I know it worked in Sierra. (I'll update Post #1.) As for Continuity/Handoff, I don't had the need to use it so I haven't tried it.

That's great, thank you!
Considering the upgrade to 10.13.5, you mentioned that 10.13.4 broke your System Definition. Did the upgrade to 10.13.5 fix it?

Right now it seems like I'll be choosing the Vega 56 over the GT 1070 in terms of compatibility.

I've kept MyHero II on 14,2 because it works. I might "get around to it" to test 10.13.5 again. But, I'm not it a hurry because it just works.

Hey Stork,

You're mentioning in your first post that you haven't yet tested iMessage and Continuity/Handoff. While reading through your part list I noticed that while showing the WiFI Card you mentioned the latter to be working. What about iMessage, have you made any tests yet?

Thinking about buying the exact same setup but with a EVGA 1070 TI, so thanks for the write up!

Continuity & Handoff working great on my Hero X build, also unlock with Apple Watch. iMessage also works perfect after following the idiots guide to make sure I am using a unique serial.

I used an Apple Broadcom 802.11AC BCM94360CD Wifi Bluetooth 4.0 Wireless Card in a PCI adapter which I had from my previous build and everything worked out of the box.

Hey, does handoff/continuity work in both directions for you? I have a different build, but I can only get it working from my iphone to my computer, not vice versa!

Seems to work like it should for me... if I am in something on my desktop like email or safari, pick up my iPhone and double tap home it offers me the handoff app at the bottom of the switcher.

Also tested from my iPad and the apps from my computer show up on the dock and open the same content fine.

In the Post #1 Build Description, I provided optional patch instructions to get rid of verbose output from the apfs.efi before the Clover Boot Screen. In order to do this we need patch the apfs.efi for non-verbose boot only in the EFI partition. So use the following Terminal command:
Code:
sudo perl -i -pe 's|\x00\x74\x07\xb8\xff\xff|\x00\x90\x90\xb8\xff\xff|sg' /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/drivers64UEFI/apfs.efi
Note: Don't copy and past without checking to see if it's the correct path.
Code:
ls /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/drivers64UEFI/
If so, then perform the above patch.

Hi there!

First of all, thank you for this great Guide! I have the same CPU and motherboard, everything works expect for Sleep (doesn't bother me for now) and Audio (it says that there are no audio output devices)

Any advices about how to fix that? Thanks! ;-)

See Post #1. First, you'll need CodacCommander.kext for your Sleep/wake-up. See Making the UniBeast USB Thumb Drive.

Second, audio requires the two step MultiBeast audio selection as description in Post#1's MultiBeast installation procedures.

I've followed your instructions meticulously, I've installed CodacCommander.kext with KextBeasts and I did the two-step audio selection in MultiBeast.

P.S. by Sleep not working I meant that it goes to sleep and then immediately wakes up.
also the CPU in About dialog says "Unknown", is this ok?

here's a little bit of something:
Code:
Samaels-iMac:~ samael$ log show --style syslog | fgrep "Wake reason"

I don't have that sleep/wake-up immediately problem. Maybe @pastrychef can help.

My "About This Mac" also shows "Unknown" for the processor. It's just cosmetic so I didn't see the need to "fiddle around" to make it show correctly.
