Hi all,

I'm just following this guide to get my gtx 1050ti up & running:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/fix-for-failure-nvidia-web-driver-on-high-sierra-black-screen-panics.234390/

Whenever I modify config.plist in clover configurator, the system won't boot any more. Thus, I have a general question:

Can I store a backup copy of config.plist in some other directory on the EFI partition (let's say /doc)? In case the modifications do not work as expected, I could easily mount the EFI partition in some Live Linux, restore the backup and boot again.

Would that work with the whole file structure as well? Can I save a copy of the EFI partition within itself (assuming it is large enough)? Would I be able to boot again?

Unfortunately, even the USB key I used to install HighSierra does not work as a rescue disk, it does not help me booting the system again. Any suggestions?

Just make a copy of config.plist in the original location and rename it something else. The whole EFI folder inside the EFI partition can also be copied somewhere else if you wish. If there is a problem you can replace the whole folder with this supposedly working copy.

How would you be able to copy things over if you can't boot?

The OP said that

So perhaps you may also be able to do that?
