I installed Sierra successfully earlier. But I am looking to reinstall a fresh copy andI am encountering error messages while booting from the USB. Here are the steps I made to create the USB.

  1. Used Unibeast to create a bootable disk.
  2. Editing config.plist using clover configurator with the following settings.
  • BOOT-->Arguments--> Only tick Kext-dev-mode=1 (untick all others)
  • kernel and kext patches-->FakeCPUID enter 0x0506E3
  • Kernel and Kext Patches --> KextToPatch --> +
    • Name: AppleUSBXHCIPCI
      Find: 83bd74ff ffff10
      Replace: 83bd74ff ffff1b
      Comment: Increase port limit
  • Rename EHC to EH0
    ACPI --> DSDT--> Patches --> +
    This two patch would let USBInjectAll.kext load:
    • Comment: change EHC1 to EH01
      Find: 45484331
      Replace: 45483031
    • Comment: change EHC2 to EH02
      Find: 45484332
      Replace: 45483032
  • Move USBInjectAll.kext & XHCI-200-series-injector.kext to USB's EFI partition /EFI/Clover/kexts/Other
I used -x and -v while installing from the usb and I have attached pictures of the screen.

I'm also attaching pictures of config.plist.

Please let me know what I'm doing wrong. Thank you.

Your image of the screen with the prohibitory symbol shows "Still waiting for root device".

When installing this means that your USB flash drive cannot be found.
This is usually because the flash drive is in a USB3 port.
If this is the case move it to a USB2 port, if it is already in a USB2 port move it to another and try again.
Repeat until you have tried all USB ports.
Use a USB2 flash drive.
If it still doesn't work you could try another flash drive.
You might also try enabling Legacy on your USB3 ports in your BIOS settings.
If you only have USB3 ports try with your USB flash drive in a USB2 hub.

My mobo only has usb 3 ports and hence I used USBInjectAll.kext and XHCI-200-series-injector.kext along with other settings.

Can I skip these steps and connect a usb2 hub to my usb3 port? Will it work?

I connected USB2 hub to a USB3 port and tried installing again. I got this error message.

Your image shows an active Serial port (SuperIO) which should be disabled in your BIOS settings.

I disabled the serial port in SuperIO settings in BIOS. Tried installing in verbose mode. Got this error message.
