Lets start off with my setup

motherboard - Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H
CPU - Intel Core i7-3770K Quad-Core
HDD - 1 SanDisk Extreme SSD 120 GB SATA 6.0 Gb-s2.5-Inch Solid State Drive SDSSDX-120G-G25
- 2 Western Digital Caviar Black 2 TB SATA III 7200 RPM 64 MB Cache Bulk/OEM Internal Desktop Hard Drive
Graphics - GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 660 Ti

This is my first hackintosh, and I'm having an issue with my first boot.

I've setup the bios, made sure my settings are as recommended here, ahci and all that. But when I go to boot off my usb drive in verbose mode I get "still waiting for root device"

My intention is to use the ssd for the operating system and the other 2 as storage drives but i cannot get past the "still waiting for root device"

HELP PLEASE!

Using Unibeast? Use a USB 2.0 port.

Had any luck solving this?

yes i did what i did was a series of things

1st made sure my ssd was plugged into my esata 0 port

2nd unplugged my other drives

3rd I plugged the thumb drive into my built in mother board usb

and after that it all worked!

Ha haaah this helped me

Thank you!
