I understand what the DSDT.aml file is/does. I don't understand what SSDT is/does
And how is SSDT different from DSDT?
I just noticed use of that term lately.
Wiki etc hasn't helped me.

I followed this thread years ago hoping someone would answer and just saw your new post.

I'm not an expert, but my rough understanding is that the SSDT (Secondary System Description Table) is basically an extension to the main DSDT. They usually contain the details of specific components, so for example, your DSDT might have a reference to the SSDT instead of information about the CPU, and then the SSDT would include the full CPU details.

DSDT is used to patch ACPI without using Clover Hotpatch. With SSDTs you patch ACPI with Clover. Config, ACPI,DSDT,Patches. For some people Clover hot patch with a set of SSDT are difficult. Im currently using Clover Hotpatch on my H97N-WIFI & H97M-D3H. You can look at my SSDTs & configs on my GitHub for examples. https://github.com/VoiletDragon/Z-H97N-WIFI-Patches
