SSDT for Asus Z370-I

Hi,

i've been using your EFI folder for quite a while now and sometimes i get a strange UI lag, it's like it drops frames during the animations. It happens especially after i wake the computer from sleep.

It's hard to catch it on the video, but it looks like really laggy in real life

The only thing that i've changed from your EFI folder is:
  • SMBIOS to 18,3
  • Audio section, that for some reason didn't work with your configuration
  • Removed PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x2,0x0) Properties section
Here you can see the diff: https://www.diffchecker.com/vGV0NPc9

Any suggestion on how can i debug this issue?

Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX Z370-I
CPU: 8700k
GPU: Sapphire RX 580 NITRO+ 8GB
Monitor: 4K DP + 1080 HDMI

Good Morning, yes it is hard to see. BTW. nice setup. Well, could you please install and run the following APP:
392151

With my config you see that the intel GPU and the AMD CPU is working. Only than you get the full GFX experience.

As I understood, you need to add "PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x2,0x0)" to get the intel GPU running. What about the ssdt? Since to day I'm using the iMacPro1,1 SMBIOS. With 18,3 I had troubles with the GPUs. I'd attached my current EFI to first post - please verify my actual EFI is working better? Let me know.

Could you please send us the boot.log from Clover?

Thank you
XDAN

How do i enable boot.log? I've attached the bdmesg output after updating the EFI folder to today's version. It still does lag.

I've noticed that it prints - GFX: Model=AMD Radeon RX 480 (ATI/AMD) instead of RX 580, is it ok?

"I've noticed that it prints - GFX: Model=AMD Radeon RX 480 (ATI/AMD) instead of RX 580, is it ok?"
-> I guess this is ok.

To verify:
  • Bios Settings
  • Did you disabled the AS Media USB 3.1 Gen2 chip?
Sadly I do not have more ideas....

Yes, i've disabled ASMedia USB 3.1 from the BIOS, and i've already reset the BIOS and tried almost any combination of BIOS settings especially under the Graphics configuration section. I've also tried different values for device-id and ig-platform-id.

Are you running the latest BIOS version (1802 2019/01/30)?

The thing that drives me crazy is that it doesn't lag on High Sierra, so it must necessarily be a software issue :banghead:

By the way if you stop the video at 0.07 you can see that the window leaves a shadow

Great post @XDAN. I've got a very very similar build and love it. I saw earlier in the thread someone posted about "already patched!" in the boot log. I've been tightening up my build making sure I don't have redundancies and that it's working fully and was curious if that part of the boot log is normal or not. I've got three concerns:

PlatformDriverOverrideProtocol not found
Driver Needs Connecting
Bin not found, already patched

Is this all normal?
