The new ssd Samsung 980 pro works with catalina or not?
what do you think?

There is one report on here. It's from July, so unclear how the poster got a hold of one back then. But they reported only a kernel panic on shutdown. Could be worse.

Maybe with Big Sur is better?

Hy, my ssd Samsung 980 pro works with catalina but I find the result of bench slow certainly due to the clamping.
PCIe4 and PCIe3.

i want to buy this samsung pro also but i hear that is not working will like slow boot and gets hot
can you share your experience so far how it works for you , much appreciated.

I installed a samsung 970 evo plus and the speed results are the same.
The temperatures are also identical: 40 ° C
Boot speed: 45 seconds on the 980, not tested with the 970.
My configuration may not be optimal but for me the 970 and the 980 have identical performance on my computer.

@guiohm79 any new information about the performance of the 980?

I reinstalled macos on a 970evo plus, with the same performance as the 980, I installed windows in dual boot on the 980 and the performance are identical, it takes the new mother cards with the PCIE 4 for the M2 (Z590) to fully exploit the 980.
