When I was looking around in Disk Utility today, I found out that OS X says that you can make RAID arrays by dragging disks OR partitions into the box below to create RAID arrays. That makes me wonder, is it possible to get 2 SSDs, partition both into 2 partitions, RAID 1/2 of one SSD to 1/2 of the other SSD and do the same for the other half, install MAC OS X on one RAID partition, and install Windows on the other? If this works, I could run RAID for cheap with 2 OS's!!

Mac RAID is HFS+ software RAID so it wont work in Windows. If you have 2 SSDs, why not install one OS on each. Much less complicated.

sorry, what I meant is RAID half of the 1st SSD with the half of the 2nd one (format as mac os x extended journaled)

RAID the second half of the 1st ssd with the 2nd half of the 2nd one (format as NTFS)

should work in theory right?
