Hey all, just got my first SSD drive and an OWC MacPro Mount.

I tried a search but can't find an exact scenario to my question.

I will be using this 500GB drive as the future home for my Windows 10 Parallels VM image. So basically, just using this SSD as a data drive, and not a boot/system drive of my Hack. (my system drive is 2TB in size)

My questions:
1. I read that I need to enable trimforce? Is this required for a data drive? or is this required for any SSD drive? Does the 850EVO need TRIM?

2. I have 3 other mechanical drives installed on my Hack, if I do a "sudo trimforce enable", it tells me that this command force-enables TRIM for all attached devices. Is this command going to affect the mechanical hard drives?

Use the trimforce command. It won't bother the mechanical HDDs.
