Soooo....I just bought my parts for my first build, and I have some questions as to best set-up my storage.
What I have is:
1) Intel 335 series - 240 GB SSD
2) Seagate Barricuda 1TB 7500rpm (Two of these)
3) External seagate HDD for back-up
I would like to set-up a Fusion drive with the SSD and the 2 HDDs primarily for some work with Adobe Suite. I also plan to install Parallels and Windows 7 (since I already own a copy). Very little Windows use is planned, but will have a few programs installed for it. Dual boot is probably going to be of no use to me since this will be a "headless" unit and accessed only through screen sharing.
What would be the best way to set-up a Fusion Drive so that I can still use a part of the SSD for my scratch disk in AfterEffects?
My initial thoughts, and please correct me if I'm out-to-lunch on this, is to partition the SSD to accomodate OSX and apps in one partition, then Windows 7 on the second partition, and finally some space for the scratch disk for Adobe.
Is this possible? Practical? Is there another way to do it that would be best?
Cheers,
Stew
