Spectre13 - 8565u - OC - Only External screen with iGPU or Internal without iGPU

Hello,

After countless tests:banghead:, I am seeking for help.

Here is my config : HP Spectre 13 I7-8565u (whiskeylake), UHD620, 16go, 4K built in screen, 2 thunderbolt.


I am trying to get HW acceleration working (keyboard, trackpad, wifi and bluetooth work). After countless tests, I can get the following results with the following parameters:

I have followed up the coffee lake and kaby lake Dortania's guides with the same results.
I have tried the following Smbios ; macbookpro14,1 ; macbookpro15,2 ; macbookpro15,4) and start from scratch and followed guide each time.


Please find attached some configurations that have booted in Catalina.

Could someone please help me?

I was reading your messages there two hours ago.
I think there must be an issue with the recent OC versions and Whisky Lake UHD 620.
 
I tried with the 0.6.0 version of opencore as well, no dice...

How far back do you think I need to go ?
 
Strange think is that I have also tested a 5.9 version (from this thread) with no luck.
The specification of the laptop were exactly like mine (except Japanese keyboard vs european one).

At the end of the post you can read that I have also tested a clover version with success (except the 1080p internal display instead of 4k and glitches if using external monitor). But I do not want to use clover.

There are perhaps several version of 8565u.

would you be so kind to share with me the whole EFI? are you using Big Sur or Catalina? if the issue is in Big Sur, you may need to patch the edid of your screen to refresh at 48hz

I've tried infinite combinations of IDs, and even reseted/updated bios, still no internal screen when iGPU is loaded :(

What makes me furious, is that I had it working last week, but then I swapped the SSD to make a dual boot and I lost everything, even bios setting were auto-reseted due to a disk change..

Anyway, I think only matters AHCI, no TPM, and no Secure boot

Any ideas?

What was the OC version when it was working?
Your processor is a Kaby Lake Refresh. I do not know if UHD620 is the same.
 
I think it was on 0.6.2
No less than that for sure
 
wow, have you figured out what was the issue?
