I have a svf14n13cxb. Everything works great on the install with the kernel I modified (so long ago, I'm not sure how I did it). I believe it was the stock kernel from the Unibeast install. I

definitely have to copy that kernel to /Volumes/newMac/System/Library/Kernels/kernel

Then I unmount the newMac's drive and dd if=/usr/standalone/i386/boot1h of=/dev/disk0s3 (or wherever your root drive is).

I found that I couldn't get the main drive to boot w/o disk errors so I made a little 35 gig partition and duplicate the Unibeast USB disk to that partition in Disk Utility.

Everything works incredibly well except I have no battery indicator or sound :( I don't even install chameleon to the drive (that seems to blow the keyboard and pad.

If anybody has kexts for that let me know, I'd be happy to get you the kernel if you need it...

:beachball:

Edit: Here's the kext for hda233 audio (working): http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/top...-for-yosemite/

System/Library/Kernels/kernel is only used in Yosemite. You're posting in the Mavericks forum.

You shouldn't need to patch the kernel for your laptop. If you have "Local APIC" use the KernelPatcher module instead.

Also,

Please provide complete details in your profile/signature
(Profile/Settings link in upper right corner of this site)

System: manufacturer/model + bootloader(Clover/Chameleon/Chimera)
CPU: detailed CPU model + motherboard chipset
Graphics: all graphics devices + laptop internal screen resolution

For example, typical Ivy laptop:
System: HP ProBook 4540s (Clover)
CPU: i5-3320m/HM76
Graphics: HD4000, 1366x768

Use CPU-Z on Windows to find CPU (Core iX-xxx) and motherboard chipset (HMxx), and graphics capabilities. For a laptop, these details are important and affect critical installation procedures.

Which means you're using NullCPUPowerManagement. Not appropriate for long-term use on laptops...

Edit: Here's the kext for had 233 audio (working): http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/top...-for-yosemite/

Audio: Best result with patched AppleHDA. Google 'patch AppleHDA guide'. Search for suitable AppleHDA or patch it yourself. Apply appropriate DSDT patches.

DSDT patches you need for AppleHDA: https://github.com/RehabMan/Laptop-DSDT-Patch
Apply: "Audio Layout 12" (change layout-id from 12 to the layout-id used by the patched AppleHDA)
Apply: "IRQ Fix"

Determine layout-id from patched AppleHDA.kext:

First you need to know your codec id in decimal. Then look in the Info.plist for AppleHDAHardwareConfigDriver.kext (in PlugIns), find your codec id under HDAConfigDefault (there may be many entries in a sloppy patched AppleHDA or only one). The LayoutID that matches your codec id is the layout id you need.

Thank you. I do what you asked, my friend. I appreciate the input.

I got a little excited that this actually works ::)

The kext for hda233 that I listed is probably the best piece of input I have here. Just KextBeast it and poof, no problem. I need this laptop for work so I've stopped taking chances (I can't handle a pc work environment: Drupal Developer).

I'll work on the Battery first and try to get that solved for anybody needing it (and fill in the blanks on my info as I can).

Thanks again, -wb
