Hi,

I have being running my new hackintosh for three weeks and I have detected few bugs I am not sure how to solve them due to my lack of experiencie. I do not know what guide should I follow.

  1. Power Management: my computer does not shut down or reboot properly, I have to force it holding the power button some seconds.

  2. GPU fan activity: sometimes I am able to listen to the gpu fan running fast when my computer is idle or not "forced" at all.
I guess all these problems are due to my graphic card configuration but, since my computer is working almost perfectly, I would like to be more focused on what exactly I should check.

Any ideas?

Thank you!

My computer:

Asus Rog Strix H370i-gaming

i5 8400

Noctua NH-L9I

RAM Crucial 8 GB

Monitor through HDMI port.

Wifi USB

Bluetooth USB

High Sierra 10.13.6

Radeon rx560 - I fixed graphics acceleration buying it. It worked out of the box and I did not set up anything else

Simply enabling "FixShutdown" works for many people.

Thanks Pastrychef.

It does not work for me, just the monitor goes off.

But my main concern is about the gpu fan speed. I do not know why the fan is noisy with no load or high temperature at all.

Do you have any ideas?

I don't know how you have things setup... Do you have working sleep/wake?

GPU fan should be controlled by the video card's firmware. 39-42C seems about right for idle temps. I don't know how well ventilated your case is...

Please post your EFI folder.

I have this case. I think is a good case and there is a lot of free space there, so I'd say everything is well ventilated ^^

Sleep/wake/shut down doesn't work fine.

I've attached my EFI.

Thanks,

Please try removing the following kexts from /Library/Extensions/ and replacing your EFI folder with this one.

To be safe, make a backup of everything before you make these changes.

@Novito,

Try checking "Halt Enabler" as well as "FixShutdown"...

@pastrychef I have tried your efi but it did not fix shut down problems.

@jaymonkey No luck neither, but thanks.
