Solving NVIDIA Driver Install & Loading Problems

I have problem six and I went through all of the steps and they did not work. So I went and did them again but installed the RC scripts too, and I still can not get it to work, could someone please help me?

I'm having the same issue after doing all Problem 6 steps including installing the RC scripts. After selecting the web driver using the GUI, the default macOS driver stays loaded reboot after reboot on 10.13.4.

I'm using a Gigabyte Windforce 1080. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

edit: I should probably add that I'm using the iMac 18.3 model. Is this an issue?

Problem 4: Black screen when using iMac15,1 or iMac17,1 or MacPro 6,1 system definition
Just quickly: I had problem 4 under 17,1. (Actually, I had the text behind the screen still showing, on some runs; something about text halted or scroll stopped or something, followed by about 5 two-digit codes with labels. Also continual hard disc activity. Anyway… .)
I swapped a HDMI cable out and a DP cable in (and changed the screen input setting accordingly) and presto! there it was (the Finder, that is). (I had tried logging in, experimentally; I am pretty sure it was this time, even apart from the inference that it must have been.) During the black screen period, I noticed that the light on the monitor stayed blue, rather than going orange for no signal… and there was a message appearing intermittently, very briefly, along the lines of, no input detected, or, no intelligible signal, or the like.
I take it that the boot continues, but it does not bother showing the verbose text any more, and also does not display graphical output on the screen (until it gets a DP instead of a HDMI cable).
[I still can’t believe it. I have checked twice that it is not getting the input from my other machine.]
(For the record, I had tried the two kexts, and then the find and replace, and I currently have the two kexts in EFI…Clover…10.12 and also in Other.)

Who else is using HDMI or DP, and did or did not get problem 4, etc. ? Must go.

Edit: so the idea is (perhaps?) that the fix would have worked if I had had the DP cable in originally… but one wonders how it would have been (eg) without the fix, or how one would fix it for HDMI.

You know, that calibration thing might be the same thing that's happening to me. What are you saying I need to look at. Getting new monitors soon, so if I can look for something in specific that my current monitor doesn't have that I can guaranty is in the new ones, I won't have to buy a device or go through any of that. Can you help? Thanks!

Hi guys,

I found out my Hack is off when I come in the office. Today I had live experience of the Kernel Panic. It appears to be com.nvidia.web.NVDAResmanWeb so probably NVidia webdriver. At the time of the panic i didn't use the Hack.

My config;
Fresh install of macOS 10.13.4

What's going on? Sierra and previous played so nice with this hack.

I have problem six and I went through all of the steps and they did not work. So I went and did them again but installed the RC scripts too, and I still can not get it to work, could someone please help me?
Just to be sure if you did all the steps in the solve, is NvidiaWeb Checked off in the "System Parameters" pane of clover?

I posted this in another thread, but haven't gotten any replies and just found this thread. I've reposted my original question below, and am hopeful this is the right place to get some help. If this is not the correct thread please point me in the correct direction.

I can't seem to get past the black screen with my install. I'm not sure where I went wrong, so I've got a few questions.

I'm on:
  • MacOS: 10.13.5
  • Lilu: 1.2.3 installed in /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other
  • NvidiaGraphicsFixup: 1.2.7 installed in /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other
  • NVIDIA Web Driver: 387.10.10.10.35.106
  • Using APFS not HFS
  • I'm using a 27" Apple Cinema Display with a resolution of 2560 by 1440 via the display port on the "Geforce GTX 1050Ti G1Gaming" video card which I then have a converter to a mini display port.
Some configuration information:
  • Boot: Only have dart=0 enabled
  • RT Variables: CsrActiveConfig is set to 0x67
  • SMBIOS: Product Name: iMac 14,2
  • System Parameters: Inject Kexts is Yes, Inject System ID and NvidiaWeb are both selected.
  • Install Drivers: EmuVariableUefi-64 and OsxAptioFix2Drv-64 are the only drivers installed.
  • BIOS: I have a Gigabyte motherboard, so I disabled the integrated graphics. (I'm hoping to use integrated graphics to drive a 2nd or 3rd monitor down the road, so not excited about disabling this, but I've seen reference that this may cause the black screen)
Where do I go from here? I've tried rebooting multiply times, still end on black screen. I can use screen share to get into box, but monitor just displays a black screen.

I had same hardware working with Sierra. Only difference is I loaded High Sierra onto a new SSD drive.

I've seen reference to having nvda_drv=1 enabled in Boot options, I've seen switching my product name, and remote desktop to switch display resolution. I've also seen to install the Lilu and NvidiaGraphicsFixup kexts in /Library/Extensions instead of /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other but this guide says put the kexts here: /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other so that is what I did. Do I need to touch the /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/kexts/ folder also? Do I need to do something with NVRAM?

I'm at a loss as to what to try next.

I had the 6th problem (unable to enable Web Driver because of the NVRAM) and your guide worked like a charm. Thanks!
