hey guys,
i have an XFX 6870 ZDFC and i have graphicsenabler=yes and i'm booting in 64 bit mode lion 10.7 and my card seems to be loading the framebuffer duckweed. so i was thinking that i had full qe/ci but after i went to dashboard and clicked to add button and the manage widgets, no ripples appear! so anyone know what's the problem?

edit: its working now!
by unchecking show dashboard as a space!!! awesome

You have to adjust it manually. On Launchpad press CTRL, Windows button or ALT, and if the icons dancing = QE/CI OK.

Re: XFX 6870 no rippes in manage widget?

IF you are NOT on the transparent "blur" background of Dashboard, you will NOT see ripples ...

IF you have the option of Transparency for your menubar, or if you can launch DVD player, I think you are fine ...

You can get the Snow Leo-like dashboard background by unchecking "Show Dashboard as a space" in the Mission Control pref pane and trying again with the widget for ripples ...

That's right. Dashboard, by default, no longer ripples in 10.7. You can't check QE/CL that way unless you uncheck Dashboard as space option.

thanks guys!!! got it solved !! by unchecking show dashboard as a space!!! awesome

A more objective way to tell if you have graphics acceleration is to type

Code:
glxgears

in X11

If you see rotating gears, you have working graphics for OpenGL at least. If you get an error then things are not right. Just so folks can check without the ripples etc...
