[Solved] USB bootloader doesn't initiate, stuck at "Missing Operating System"

On Mac Disk Utility, you can also select Show All Volumes up top and then select the actual USB drive and only then will it give the option to change Scheme to GUID Partition.

Many thanks. I solved the same problem by the solution you provided. By the way, I used a software called "Bootice" to create the GUID partition on Windows.
I don't see a GUID option in Bootice (v1.3.3 x64).

Note: You MUST select the "actual USB drive" as @WowParzival said (shown by arrow in screenshot) to get the GUID option, and not the volume name (NO NAME).
