Hey Experts out there!
I've been having nothing but issues getting native USB 3.0 working on my configuration. I've read and followed lots of forum posts here and my built in USB 3.0 sometimes works. It is not listed in the System Information Report (but others have reported the same thing). I can connect a USB 3.0 Hard drive directly to the port and most of the time it will work but if I use a good known working USB 3.0 Hub it does not.
After lots of frustration with this I decided to purchase a USB 3.0 card from the buyers guide. (and I've actually purchased 2 different cards with the same results).
These are the two USB cards I've tried:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00I027GPC/?tag=tonymacx86com-20
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01C59TB0I/?tag=tonymacx86com-20
After disabling USB 3.0 in my UEFI Bios I've installed the new card with the same results. My system boots, get the Clover Config screen and I boot off my primary Sierra HD and the boot process continues. I then get a plain black screen with a cursor that I can move but cannot get any further. I can also remote into my desktop system from my MBA and I get the same black screen results.
My guess is that I may need (or need to remove) some KEXTs to make this work but am unsure which ones are needed (or not needed).
To confirm that either card is good, I've booted up off my Windows 10 HD and both cards are recognized perfect and work fine.

Sorry for such a long post but any experts out there have any advice before I ship these USB Cards back to Amazon and give up?

You're motherboard doesn't have Intel USB 3.0 so no native USB 3.0 support. Series 6 didn't have Intel USB 3.0. No solution unless you purchase a PCI-E USB 3.0 card that is based on FL1100 chipset.

Thanks for the reply VioletDragon...

So just to clarify a couple things...
The GA-Z68MX-UD2H-B3 does have 2 Etron EJ168 chips as I've been able to use USB 3.0 devices in prior MacOS's but have nothing but issues in Sierra.
Also one of the PCI-E USB 3.0 cards I purchased from Amazon does use the FL1100 chipset (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00I027GPC/?tag=tonymacx86com-20).
So are you saying this FL1100 chipset card should be natively supported? Or are there any special KEXTs I'd need for it?
Appreciate any info anyone can provide!

From 10.11+ USB 3.0 support on non Intel USB 3.0 controllers is not very good as Apple changed there USB stack. But from what i enquired about the FL1100 it is natively supported.

So I appeared to have corrected my issue. It turns out BOTH of the cards linked in the OP work fine once I cleaned up and removed all of the USB Kexts that I had installed in trying to get the built in USB 3.0 working. Both cards seem to just use built in Apple Kexts and appear to be running at full USB 3 speeds.
Thanks for those that read and replied. Appreciate the assistance!!
