I run the Clover installer,

UEFI boot, install to ESP, check the EFI partition, etc etc.. no matter what, reboot, there is Chimera 4.1 bootloader.

tried to format the EFI and redo, same thing.. almost like i am stuck with chimera forever. any ideas?

How many drives do you have in your system? Do you have the SSD set to the top of the boot order (first SATA port).

Good modding,

Port0 (first sata port).

only drive on the system plugged in. Boots to Chimera 4.1

I had to load USB to install and go into terminal and install the boot loader with terminal
sudo fdisk -f boot0 -u -y /dev/rdisk0
sudo dd if=boot1h of=/dev/rdisk0s2
sudo cp boot /

for Chimera (on a unmounted HD).

So is there a way to undo this and get Clover to boot? Seems like it doesn't boot the EFI partition at all with clover and skips right to Chimera on the main Disk rdisk0s2.

Any suggestions?

basically solved this myself.

heres what i did.

1) booted on another drive
2) unmounted my SSD drive
3) loaded up iPartition.
4) deleted the EFI partition from the partition map
5) created a new partition starting at block 40 ending at 409,640 (200 megs) as a EFI partition "named EFI"
6) went into disk utility and clicked on Disk0 and did a repair. (apple repairs the EFI partition and MBR)
7) installed Clover and voila, good to go.
