[Solved] Sierra restarts instead of shutting down

1. Go to System Preferences >> Energy Saver
2. Uncheck Wake For Ethernet Access
3. Open Terminal, Type "sudo shutdown -h now" (without quotes)
4. Check whether the system is getting rebooted or not.

Line 6 Tone direct
Asus Wireless adapter N10
Voyager s3
Bluetooth 4.0

Remove all other devices other than USB Keyboard and Mouse.

Then try shutdown again.

I think that's it!
i am still going to elimination process, but with only the apple keyboard and mouse it shuts down.
I'll post my result.

It turns out the culprit was the Line 6 driver, after i updated it, everything is working properly now.

Glad you found the culprit. All of this is just persistence persistence and more persistence. Oh and don't forget frustration frustration and more frustration. If you work at an issue you eventually will get it resolved. Happy hacking.

The driver needed for Line6 devices was outdated.. if you don't use Line6 products your issue could be something else...
Did your read the entire thread?
