[Solved] RX 580 - Mojave boots to black screen

Hi all,

My rig: i7-4930k / X79 Deluxe / Sapphire RX 580 Nitro+ 4GB / PSU be quiet! Dark Power Pro 10 750W

Like many others I'm getting a black screen when Mojave 10.4.2 boots (I tried with HDMI, DVI and DP to DVI)
I'm starting to feel out of options, it's supposed to work OOB
Did anyone with the same card and problem manage to fix it?

@noisegate, please update your profile (personal details) with your Motherboard, CPU and iGPU or Graphics Card(s).
If you have a prebuilt computer enter make and model instead of motherboard.

do you have whatevergreen.kext and lilu.kext in Clover/kexts/other? These are required for AMD GPUs not otherwise natively supported..

I do, all proper kexts were installed/updated for 10.14.
I’m a bit at a loss here, this setup ran 10.11 and 10.12 flawlessly with a HD 6870

Indeed, I am going through the same problem now. How did you solve it?

I ran into the same issue. As it turned out, the issue was the boot device in BIOS. I went into BIOS and chose UEFI as first boot.

You could set CSM disable that make it OK
