[solved] Razer Blade 2017 + CloverHDA + High Sierra (Layout 13)

Hi guys,

I had installed High Sierra (with some success) on a Razer Blade 2017 UHD model, with help from this guide https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-razer-blade-2017.242627/ by lectrasxt16.

However, the guide was using VoodooHDA, yet I'm trying to get AppleHDA to work, and hopefully along with all peripherals (mic, HDMI + audio).

One of the things I've experimented was to use CloverHDA, from https://github.com/insanelydeepak/c.../blob/master/Laptop/ALC298_v3-Razor Blade.zip

However, this was written for Sierra. I tried to reappropriate it for High Sierra, by modifying Info.plist of CloverHDA.kext from the above zip against my system's version of AppleHDA (I've attached both files)

Also, patched DSDT to layout-13 as required from the instructions.

After rebuilding kext caches and rebooting, it seems that CloverHDA is loaded alongside CodecCommander, yet sound device was not detected

Anyone has any ideas? I've attached all debug files below

Thanks for the tip,

I've looked at Mirone AppleHDA patcher before but the list of supported codecs seems to fall short of ALC 298. Perhaps there's a way to extrapolate from somewhere or import it?

Use google to find XML for ALC298.
AppleALC is also a good source for patched AppleHDA XML.

For the sake of closure and the benefit of the community, this was the repository I'd refer to

Also be sure not to have conflicting HDA files prior to using the above.
