Got the latest macOS Sierra running pretty good along with a MSI N560GTXTi 1GB.
QE, Cuda and OSX native Nvidia drivers are working (can't get Web Drivers to run after reboot).

iMovie, Photos, even Quicktime plays movies fine... everything seems OK, but...

When ever I try to do a screen recording with Quicktime it crashes! :banghead:

I've tried doing the full screen record, selecting a window to record, and selecting part of the screen...nothing works! :-X

Anybody have any clues as to why?!

Same here. As soon as soon as I click "Start Recording" Quicktime "unexpectedly quits".

I am having this on Sierra with:
  • kext-dev-mode=1
  • rootless=0
  • NvidiaWeb

I had this problem on El Capitan too. Also Clover, can't remember settings.

Previously when I was running Mountain Lion it worked though. That was pre-clover. I still have the disk, but I'd have to spend some time to figure out what settings I have on it.

It's really annoying.

I fixed it by using Clover Configurator.
  1. Open the clover.plist and go to the "System Parameters"
  2. check the 'Inject System ID' & 'NvidiaWeb' boxes.
  3. Reboot
Now I can record and save the video files.

WOAH! If this works I'll jump out my window.

I'm a bit concerned about NvideaWeb for some reason. But will have a go and report back. Thanks hananias

Please let us know how it goes! (but please, don't jump out the windows ;) )
Best wishes

Turns out I had those settings already checked. So no good for me. And there seem to be very few other threads discussing the topic. How depressing.

I am having the same issue, but I have an AMD card, a RX 570 8GB Sapphire. Any ideas? Thanks

Same issue here with Vega 64 - any solutions?

Installed Lilu+WhateverGreen and use shikigva=32 shiki-id=Mac-7BA5B2D9E42DDD94 bootargs.

Thank you - this fixed my screen recording issue.
