Hi, I recently created a High Sierra install USB using Unibeast and am attempting to install MacOS on my current rig (See my profile) I got as far as running the installer, but then after it restarts and you boot from the new installation it hangs on this:

apfs_module_start:1277: load: com.apple.filesystems.apfs, v748.51.0, 748.57.19

And then it garbles all the text and displays a prohibited sign. Any tips on how to fix this?

I also have both a 1060 6GB and a AMD Radeon HD 7700 connected to my PCIE slots - this shouldn't cause much of a problem right?

Should I try re-installing using the HFS instead?

Thanks!

EDIT: I solved it by changing the USB port type that my external HDD is connected to. I went from 3.0 to 3.1 and that did the trick. I assume 2.0 might work as well, but I had devices connected to those types of ports.

Boot in verbose mode and post a picture of the screen when it stops.
It probably says "Still waiting for root device" in the bottom left corner.

So it does say that, after all the text gets scrambled. I guess I missed it. Here's a picture:

So how can I fix this?

EDIT: I just switched the external drive im installing to to a USB 3.1 from a USB 3.0 and it made it to a grey screen where it restarted again and then got to the Installing on High Sierra screen. I guess that fixed it!

Thanks for your help.

Same problem here (with an ASUS ROG STRIX Z370-F GAMING), and same solution.

I had the Unibeast USB 3.0 stick plugged into a blue USB 3.0 port. This resulted in the same problem. Last output was this line about "apfs_module_start". Then after a while the screen got distorted, as can be seen in your picture.

After reading your post I plugged it into a red USB 3.1 port. Rebooted, and everything worked.

I had the same problem. Solved with USBInjectAll.kext

Look like we are on the same boat now. I don't know whether this thread is closed. Hopefully someone know the solution.
I don't know if the one who started this thread is still active or not. :(

I rolled bios back to F11. That helped to get over apfs-module-start.
Newest BIOS was just few days old, dated 21.1.2019. Now I´m back to F11 which is from october 2018.
