No idea then.

Not sure it helps but this is the info I get when I list my disks in terminal.
Sorry can't do a screenshot.

Looking below, I'm unsure what a "(synthesized)" partition is ??

/dev/disk1 (internal, physical):

#: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER

0: GUID_partition_scheme *240.1 GB disk1

1: EFI EFI 209.7 MB disk1s1

2: Apple_APFS Container disk2 239.8 GB disk1s2

/dev/disk2 (synthesized):

#: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER

0: APFS Container Scheme - +239.8 GB disk2

Physical Store disk1s2

1: APFS Volume HIGH SIERRA 31.6 GB disk2s1

2: APFS Volume Preboot 19.8 MB disk2s2

3: APFS Volume Recovery 519.6 MB disk2s3

4: APFS Volume VM 20.5 KB disk2s4

Does it matter at all that my High Sierra SSD installation was created using Carbon Copy Cloner
from a portable HDD I managed to install High Sierra on ???
The original USB installer I made wasn't able to see my SSD so I installed first to the ext USB and
then cloned that drive to my SSD . ????
