[Solved]: nVidia web driver does not load after bios update

yes, it works but I prefer 2202

Same here. I noticed that I could overclock more with 2202.
To roll back you need to save 2202 bios on usb stick and use the bios flash button in the back panel. For instructions see --> https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...s-viii-gene-i5-6600k-gigabyte-gtx-950.181272/

I have a Maximus VIII Gene and successfully downgraded from 3007 to 2202 with Flashback BIOS.

Warning: this will reset your BIOS settings.

Steps:
  1. Download 2202 from ASUS: https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/MAXIMUS-VIII-GENE/HelpDesk_Download/
  2. Unzip and rename the file M8G.CAP
  3. Save M8G.CAP onto a FAT32 USB Stick:
    1. If you are reformatting the USB stick with DiskUtility, make sure to select Master Boot Record.
    2. I made sure M8G.CAP was the only file on the drive, but that might not be necessary?
  4. Shut down the machine
  5. Place the stick into the USB port directly underneath the Ethernet port
  6. Press and hold the BIOS button for 2-3 seconds, until it starts flashing.
  7. The button should keep flashing blue and you should see USB stick access light flashing
  8. If you see a solid blue light on the BIOS button, an error occurred (no change applied)
  9. Update is complete and successful when blue light goes off
Oh yeah, and shout out to Stork for making an excellent guide. Thanks for everything guys!

Any solution for those of us with the Z170-A? I'm stuck on 3007 and can't find a way to roll back. The Z170-A doesn't support USB flashback despite it being advertised as so.

I've tried following this:
http://overclocking.guide/flash-back-older-bios-asus-z170/

but it results in
Error 368: Failed to disable write protection for the BIOS space.
FPT Operation Failed.

I've noticed that BIOS 3201 is available for my Ranger VIII Motherboard. Has anyone with other affected 'boards got a new update too, and tried it? I might give it a go later today.

Unfortunately, I can't use EmuVariableUefi-64.efi as my last booted drive is not remembered on startup, if I use this.

I've tried it, using 3201 right now. One thing I like about this version is, it supports 4k resolution. I saw my bios logo screen and my clover startup screen in 4k. But I still need to use EmuVariableUefi-64 to use my 980 card. If you don't use Emu... you will still have 4k resolution but instead of 5 MB you have 33MB VideoRam.
