[SOLVED] Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080/1070

Status
Not open for further replies.
After accepting the latest OS and driver updates,
10.12.6 and WebDriver-378.05.05.25f01.pkg respectively, my Nvidia GeForce 1070 no longer detects any monitors.

I can still run CUDA apps (like gethminer-cpp) and the Nvidia Web Driver detects the presence of the GPU, but hot plugging HDMI or DisplayPort cables into the external connectors does not elicit any response.

(In the meantime I am connecting another monitor to the on-board graphics HDMI port and it's alive).

Has anyone else seen this?

Update [Solved]: This is resolved by installing Lilu.kext and NvidiaGraphicsFixup.kext in the Clover EFI/kexts/Other directory.

Obtained from:
https://github.com/vit9696/Lilu/releases
https://sourceforge.net/p/nvidiagraphicsfixup

Now I have multiple monitors, the Nvidia 1070 is driving a 4k monitor at 60Hz over DisplayPort and my onboard Intel graphics is driving a 1080p display over HDMI.

hello All

so tricky question,
i have 2 TITAN X Maxwell: they runs perfectly
I have a great proposal for a TITAN Xp (second hand)

in rendering, I know tons of example (under Windows) of people who can run 2 video cards (different generation) perfectly (maxwell/pascal) and CUDA is used

my question is to know if Nvidia webdriver will work with this mix of graphic card on my hack?

Any clues? :p
PS: for people who ask why so many graphic cards: I make photogrammetry 3D / and mixed reality:
Rendering is exclusively multi GPU and for 42 hours for one model so if I can reduce this time by adding one Pascal :D

It doesn't matter which specific combination of GPUs are in a machine (including mixing AMD and Nvidia cards, despite what unsubstantiated superstition in some threads would have you believe). The driver supports both the maxwell-based titans as well as the Titan Xp, so that's all you need to know. It'll work.

Thank you a lot

Perfect I will manage to try it
Thank you a lot for the confirmation

But maybe you have the solution to another problem:
I have a rig with a 2696v4 and the 2 titan x
But the nvidia web driver window appears only when I do not use the hyperthreading
If I use it by coming on the desk of the x.12.6 the webdriver cannot be launched but everything working find on programs using gpu
But it is not perfectly smooth for finder window etc etc

I don't know why it appears as it
If you have any clues ;)

this didn't solve it for me..i've got the gtx 1080 ti sc2 by EVGA, starting with web-drivers, but the system always just starts with the internal GPU and still cannot boot with the gtx 1080 running natively...

Try Problem/Solution 6 of this thread:

Had the same problem and this did fix it for me.

Hi, I have a problem. I installed a 2nd GPU in my system, mainly for rendering in Windows. But now, my High Sierra system is stuck in a bootloop. A single 1070 boots fine, a single 1080 boots fine. But together they create a bootloop on the moment the drivers kick in. If I disable the web drivers, the system boots fine, but I'm stuck with 1024x768. OS X sees both the cards.

Is there a way to disable one of the videocards? I'm fine with only the 1070, because I don't use my OS X system for heavy rendering.

I've searched a lot of forums, but haven't seen anyone with the same problem.

Could something similar to a class code spoof be used, except to change the vendor ID so that the Nvidia graphics driver doesn't load?

One person had issue with two older (Kepler?) Nvidia cards:
