[solved] no trackpad tapping

the trackpad on my 4530s running Mountain Lion 10.8.3 works fine, but there is no tapping function. I go into the trackpad tab in system preferences and there is no option for tapping.

Any ideas?

Great but, you might want to enlighten others on what the problem was and how you solved it. I guess you found SysPrefs -> Trackpad?

Sorry. It was a false problem. Trackpad settings were wrong in macos. "Tap trackpad using two fingers for secondary click" was not ticked. Duh
