Until El Capitan 10.10.5, I managed to get 1600mA extra from USB (can be seen on System Information > USB) by applying some DSDT patches. But after updating to Sierra, it will only provide default 500mA power through USB. This was really useful for charging iDevices faster through my computer.
My mobo is a GA-Z77X-UP5 TH with a MSI GTX 970.
Does anyone know if/what significant changes were made in the I/O Tree in Sierra? I tried messing a little with the DSDT but had no success, I'm understand little about it. It seems most patches I used were made for 10.8/10.9 and weren't updated for 10.11 (which I know had some USB issues related to DSDT, though I had none).
I will attach my current DSDT (which was working in El Capitan) and any suggestions will be very appreciated.

EDIT: See post #54 for solution!!

High Current will only work when you have a DSDT. Look at Clover Wiki. Im using High Current to charge my iPad air on my Z77-DS3H Build. My GA-G41MT-S2PT which also has a fully patched DSDT uses High Current to charge my iPad air 2 and my partners iPad. https://clover-wiki.zetam.org/Configuration/Devices#devices_usb_usb-highcurrent

Yes, I have a DSDT, I'm just not completely sure it's correctly patched. Also, in El Capitan I didn't need to use Clover's High Current to enable it, but I've tried it in Sierra but it didn't work.

How did you patch youre DSDT?

I used the available patches for 7 series and my motherboard from pjalm's repo.

If you add the Gigabyte Repo theres a fully patched DSDT for you're motherboard.
