folks:

my p55a-ud3 (rev.1) was working fine with bios F6. after i upgraded to F11, i got a kernel panic on the reboot. i subsequently restored back to F6, but the KP remains.

any ideas? i'm hoping not have to reinstall 10.6.4. thanks.

***SOLVED***

i'd forgotten the BIOS update had reset the drives back to IDE mode. once i'd change it to AHCI. all is well again.

Just make sure you are using the right DSDT...
Also, didn't you load optimized settings after updating your BIOS ? You should !

thanks for the reminder re the DSDT update, lnx2mac! i had forgotten how the BIOS settings would've been reset due to the DSDT mismatch. i reloaded from optimal defaults and revised the settings per your blog entry.

again, much appreciated.

Actually it's not due to the DSDT mismatch, but you should have reset the settings as internal storage structures might change between versions.

i reloaded from optimal defaults and revised the settings per your blog entry.

again, much appreciated.
