[Solved] is ASM1042a natively supported in Sierra/High Sierra?

It's not going to be natively supported due to it's Taiwan origin, however the site says it supports UASP and Mac OS so either it will be "native" but only post-boot via a HID style plug and play driver, or it will have supported drivers on thier website.

The reason I say "native" is that due to the fact that the device will be unrecognised prior to the kext loading I recommend you keep away from it with regard to installs, backups and updates. Anything attached to it won't show in single user or safe modes too.

not sure what you meant by "Taiwan chip"

in any case, I installed OSX on my Intel dual CPU for the first time and it recognizes my USB3 card using native drivers!
