Hi,

I was wondering if anyone managed to make HD 5600 work with accelerated graphics?

I can only use it without acc. graphics with 7 mb memory :S

I tried injecting Intel in clover and ig-platform-id 0x16120003, which should be id of HD 5600. If try to boot it like this, it won't boot:

If I try to boot with any other id, it will boot, but the accelerated graphics will not work.

Most are having success with 0x16160002 or 0x16260006.

You need to set DVMT-prealloc to 64mb or 96mb.

I already tried 0x16160002, I'll try the other one and see it works. My card has 128mb dedicated memory, so it should be fine, or so I've read somewhere, only <= 64 are having problems.

How do you know DVMT-prealloc is set at 128mb?

Well I haven't actually checked. But this guide says if I have 128mb dedicated memory, I should have 128mb pre-allocated memory.

How can a guide tell you how DVMT-prealloc is set?

What software are you using to get a DVMT-prealloc reading?

I'm not using anything, like I said, I only know that the dedicated memory is 128mb (shown in windows graphics settings). I'm gonna confirm that pre-alloced memory is 128mb as well, I just assumed it would.

You're using Windows, as you state in the second part of the same sentence...

like I said, I only know that the dedicated memory is 128mb (shown in windows graphics settings).

Windows is not a reliable indication of the setting, especially Windows 10.

Can you tell me some way to get the value of prealloc memory? I have grub installed if it can help in some way. I tried to google it, but can't find anything other than the Windows method.

I also tried to path AppleIntelBDWGraphicsFramebuffer by replacing 39CF763C with 39CF773C in clover, but got stuck in kernel panic as well.

I think there might be some other problem, it's a shame that not many people have 5600s yet.

BTW 0x16260006 and 0x16120003 produce the same kernel panic, while other ids I've tried simple don't work and will just load OS X without accelerated graphics. So I think these 2 ids work, but there is some problem, which could be the prealloc memory or something else.

You can check the current setting with setup_var.
