Hello everyone,

After read the post in the forums, I decided to build my own hackintosh. When I received all the parts, and started to install hackintosh, I found I failed at the very beginning: ( I got HID: Legacy Shim 2 when using verbose boot and then the dreaded prohibited sign. I use Samsung NVMe PM961 1T as my drive. I learned from the forums that high sierra 10.13.6 support NVMe SSD, so why I got the prohibited sign? I followed the installation guide step by step, is there anything I did wrong?

Here’ my build:
Gigabyte Z370n WiFi (no USB 2.0 port)
Intel 8100 (waiting for 9700k, and GTX 2070)
G. Skill 16G Ram
Samsung NVMe PM961 1T
Sf600 Power

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks :)

> same issue here
> indeed works on USB 2.0
I feel so dumb -__-

Thx guys

(Btw, it reacts the same way with Unibeast Mojave and High Sierra)

I have the same problem however I am NOT using USB dongle.
I try to install from App Store.
Download High Sierra, install it, upon reboot computer fails.
I would love to know why if I am not even using a USB 3.0 device.
I do believe it has something to do with USB, it fails.
I disabled every setting in USB, unplugged every single USB device except keyboard and mouse.
I tried installing Mojave and High Sierra, both of them fail.

Any other suggestions?

Hello, I am having the same issue, I am using an old USB 2.0 flash drive and also inserted the stick directly on the motherboard USB 2.0 port and yet I am facing the same issue. Anyone kindly have some idea how can i fix that?

motherboard: MSI X99A SLI PLUS
CPU: 6800k Broadwell-E

this double post was made for error.
previous post is still relevant.

I had this issue because of an old Lilu or WhateverGreen driver. try to use the latest as well as all latest opencore files
