I have Kingston HyperX 2x4GB RAM that's rated for 1600mhz. However, in the BIOS, the multiplier is set to 13.33 and it shows up as 1333 in the OS as well. I would like the RAM to run at its faster speed. Is the only thing I need to do to change the multiplier in the BIOS to 16.00? Do I need to change any voltages (the RAM is rated for 1.65v, but I'm not sure what the BIOS is giving it)? Also, will setting my RAM to this faster speed have an adverse effect on its life or performance? Is there any other setting I need to change besides multiplier or voltage?

Thanks, Seamus

SOLVED: Got it by selecting XMP Profile 1 in the BIOS and rebooting!

Hi,

I've got the same RAM as you and I think I jus changed the speed in the BIOS.
