Hi All,

I've been running Linux without any problems, however when running macOS Sierra my temperatures are out of control. I've tried reading up on generating SSDTs, playing with "Enable C states" and "Enable P states" in clover, but none of this seems to help. It definitely isn't a cooling issue, as everything is fine, even under a stress test, in Linux.

I got the install of Sierra (10.12.5) practially fully working except audio which isn't an issue for me, but untill I sort these overheating issues it's pointless.

Does anyone have any suggestions to what I can try? I've attached my SSDT.aml (generated with ssdtPRGen.sh) and config.plist. I've installed with Multibeast 9.1, Clover, and am using 0x0506E3 as the cpuid with iMac 17,1 for the system definition.

Motherboard: ASUS Prime H270-Pro
CPU: i7-7700k
CPU Cooler: Corsair H60
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 2133Mhz
Storage: Samsung 960 EVO M.2-2280 250GB (using RehabMan/patch-nvme)
Graphics: Nvidia GTX 950
macOS: 10.12.5
System Definition: iMac 17,1

Liunx idle, temps are around 37:

And under load, peak around 60:

In Sierra the temperatures idle around 50:

Then opening a program, e.g. Chrome, will make the temperatures jump to 90!

Try this instead. Much better results.

Cheers for the quick reply. I've given that a go, but unfortunately I've still got the same issue :/

I've also tried using Clover Configurator to use SMBIOS 18,3 with a board ID of Mac-65CE76090165799A (otherwise it refuses to boot), however that hasn't helped matters either.

Hmm... I'm not sure how to assist in this particular problem.

I'm using SMBIOS 14,2 with no issues and temps are fine.

Hopefully a mod with more experience (@RehabMan ???) can help out here...

Okay, cheers for your help though. I'll make a post within that Native CPU Power Management thread and see how it goes.
