Motherboard
ASUS ROG Maximus IX Hero
CPU
i7-7700K
Graphics
GTX 1060
Machine was fully functional prior to installing new graphics card. This is my first build and it has been working for a while now. I'm not very experienced and it took me some time to get everything working the first time. Noob assistance requested.

Old card: AMD Radeon HD 6850 GPU http://www.gigabyte.us/Graphics-Card/GV-R685OC-1GD#ov
Problem: Graphics were laggy but audio worked.

I've now removed my audio drivers and am afriad to start over with MultiBeast as it took me a while to get the nvidia web driver working. So, before I break more stuff I figured I would ask for help. Thanks in advance.

If you need more info to diagnose this issue, please tell me how to get you the info you need.

New card: GeForce GTX 1060 SC https://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=06G-P4-6163-KR
Problem 1: Monitor doesn't get signal from HDMI
Problem 2: mDP gets signal and machine works great, but no audio.

Build:
OS: 10.12.6
iMac 14,2

mobo: GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3-rev-13

Display 1 mdp: DELL U3417W
Display 2 dvi: DELL 2007WFP

Model Name: iMac
Model Identifier: iMac14,2
Processor Name: Intel Core i7
Processor Speed: 3.41 GHz
Number of Processors: 1
Total Number of Cores: 4
L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB
L3 Cache: 8 MB
Memory: 16 GB

Thanks for the tip. I've updated my profile. Also, while updating I noticed under "about this mac" it says 256 MB for my gpu. It should be 6 GB.

Anyhow, thanks in advance for the help!

Could be that you have not disabled integrated graphics or are wrongly injecting Intel graphics in your config.plist.

BIOS - Disable Integrated graphics - Set PEG as Primary
Use a digital connection - DVI or HDMI - VGA is not supported.
Boot with nv_disable=1
May need to update Clover
Install web drivers
Update web drivers to ensure that you have the correct version.
Config.plist - Do not inject Intel or Nvidia graphics and no ig-platform-id
Config.plist - Disable SIP fully - CsrActiveConfig 0x67
Edit config.plist - NvidiaWeb = true as per Link
May need to emulate native NVRAM - Problem 6
Remove nv_disable=1 from config.plist
May need to install Lilu.kext , LiluFriend and NvidiaGraphicsFixup.kext to /Library/Extensions

Potential Problems :
HDMI 2.0 is not supported - Use HDMI 1.4 (or lower)
If your graphics card has more than one output of the type that you are using then try another one.
Black Screen with MacPro 6,1 or iMac 15 or iMac 17 System Definition

Thank you for the suggestions. Still no audio and still showing 256 MB for graphics card.

Did all of this. (Some of it I had already done in my troubleshooting attempts)

May need to emulate native NVRAM - Problem 6

This is how it boots up. So, I don't think it's Problem 6.

-Edit-

Also, I'm fine with using mDP so long as I can get audio through it. These are the ports it has:

  • HDMI 2.0b, DisplayPort 1.4 and Dual-Link DVI

My main monitor doesn't have DVI input so I'm using that port for my secondary monitor. The U3417W display has these ports:

Did all of this.
No you did not :

Code:
<dict>
            <key>ATI</key>
            <true/>
            <key>Intel</key>
            <false/>
            <key>NVidia</key>
            <true/>
        </dict>

Config.plist - Do not inject Intel or Nvidia graphics and no ig-platform-id

Note that it is better to attach your config.plist to your post rather than pasting it.

Sorry. It's not checked in clover. Should I delete everything between dict?

No, if you don't know your way around the config.plist try editing it with Clover Configurator.

Thanks for your response. When I open Clover Configurator, this is what I see with nothing checked. That's why I thought it wasn't injected.

Maybe the config.plist that you are editing is not the one that you are booting with.
