Hey all, I have just tried doing a hackintosh install for the first time.

I downloaded the latest copy of iBoot and am using a 10.6.3 osx retail disc.

The issue I am having is after I switch disks with iBoot the installer hangs on the apple logo with the spinning dial.

I walked away for half an hour, came back and it was still stuck on this stage.

I removed all but one RAM module, am only running a single HDD and a single ODD, have AHCI configured and S3 Suspend.

I rebooted and tried with the -x modifier on boot and had the same issue.

Any suggestions?

All help would be much appreciated.

My specs are as follows:

ASUS P7P55D-E PRO M/Board
Intel Core i7-860
1x2GB DDR3 1333 (For minimal RAM install purposes)
Sapphire ATI Radeon HD5770 Vapor-X
Blank 750GB Western Digital HDD
DVD Drive

Re: Hackintosh OSX Install Hanging at Logo Stage

Have you try -v and see what is caused the system hang?

Give iBoot-Legacy or iBoot-GE a try. See if it works.

Re: Hackintosh OSX Install Hanging at Logo Stage

There was a mention of one bug;

launchctl.c:2325 (23930):30 (dbfd = open(g_job_overrides_db_path, 0_RDONLY | 0_EXLOCK | 0_CREAT, S_IRUSR | S_IWUSR)) != -1
systemShutdown false

Then a few kexts were denied.

It also turns out the 750gb I thought was blank had an NTFS Partition so I'll erase the drive and try again lol.

Re: Hackintosh OSX Install Hanging at Logo Stage

okay, so emptied the hdd and the same issue is occurring.

With -v the last few lines are

launchctl.c:2325 (23930):30 (dbfd = open(g_job_overrides_db_path, 0_RDONLY | 0_EXLOCK | 0_CREAT, S_IRUSR | S_IWUSR)) != -1
systemShutdown false

And that's where I lose it (the 00:00:00:00:00:00 being my MAC address)

I will try a legacy iBoot but any suggestions from this?

Re: Hackintosh OSX Install Hanging at Logo Stage

okay,

no dice it seems.

I tried with a legacy boot disk and have similar issues, just instead I get the warning: skipping personalities lines.

If anyone has any ideas on what I need to do it would be a huge help.

Common lines across verbose installs so far seem to be these;

Bug: launchctl.c:2325 (23930):30 (dbfd = open(g_job_overrides_db_path, 0_RDONLY | 0_EXLOCK | 0_CREAT, S_IRUSR | S_IWUSR)) != -1

Anyone?

would be a great help :)

Re: Hackintosh OSX Install Hanging at Logo Stage

If the Snow Leopard dvd is in you dvd drive you press -x -v PciRoot=1 and then press enter. Now it will not stuck at the apple screen. I had the same problem but my other problem is now its not installing correctly after 20 minutes the computer reboots itself. Maybe you can try this.

Sorry for my bad English
