Just installed the GTX 970 a couple of days ago on to my hackintosh and it seems to restart because of a kernel panic when the graphics card gets under some stress. The panic restart seems to happen only when the graphics card is under some heavy load, since less requiring tasks run just fine on it.

My specs: El Capitan 10.11.3, i7 4790k, ASUS Sabertooth Z97 mk II, nVidia GTX 970, Clover bootloader.

I copied the reported message I get when the computer boots up after the panic:

Some time ago there were a load of problems with virtual box kexts causing kernel panics, it would be worth eliminating them as the cause.

Also, you might try iMac14,2 instead of iMac15,1

Would you mind guiding me what kexts are these? I dont know where to begin to look.

And if I change the system definition which are the parameters I should not change for my iMessage to keep working?

The easiest way would be to uninstall Virtual Box.

The kexts are :
org.virtualbox.kext.VBoxNetAdp 5.0.16
org.virtualbox.kext.VBoxNetFlt 5.0.16
org.virtualbox.kext.VBoxUSB 5.0.16
org.virtualbox.kext.VBoxDrv 5.0.16

Located in either /System/Library/Extensions or /Library/Extensions

And if I change the system definition which are the parameters I should not change for my iMessage to keep working?

You would need to generate a new SMBIOS completely (Clover Configurator magic wand tool) and it is best to do this offline and only connect when it is complete.

See my Qx-2000 build for a walk through if you are uncertain.

Could it be a problem of 650W power supply not being enough?

Deleting VirtualBox (and its .kext) did not have any effect.

Check and see - Google power supply calculator

Alright, the problem wasn't a panic caused by heavy load.

It was the steam overlay causing the panic. Disabled it, problem fixed.

I feel like an idiot, but honestly, who would have thought.
