Sounds like it could be bad ram or bad processor/socket?

There's something else wrong because everything you're doing is correct.

What Smbios are you using?

Should really be iMac 11 3 for an i7 870.

You could also try booting into windoze and extracting/uploading your vanilla dsl made from DSDT editor/patcher N we'll see if your GPU is conflicting with the DSDT you're currently using.
It wasn't uploaded from your machine after all!

To freedumb2000

DVD drive looking for a disc is the thing that will be stopping auto sleep.
Replacing it with a Sony Optiarc will fix that.

In my case it was chrome that keeps it from sleeping. This is a general issue and not exclusive to hackint0shs.

OK, good to know.
Never used chrome myself so there ya go.

Hi Plexi.
Thanks for all your help so far, looks like I was not the only person who needed help with this MB after all.
I kept on following this thread, and I am very thankful seeing all the help you provided.
One thing that I did not get to work is waking up my hackintosh after I powered it into sleep.
I have to remove power and reboot it.
Any ideas in this area?

Thanks again

Bios settings?
USB 3 driver?
Preferences?
darkwake=no
(sometimes lion will need two taps instead of one on the keyboard to wake it)

Look into those things

hey, how do i extract my vanilla dsl in windows? can i use the method described here? http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=35559

in multibeast there is just iMac 11 1 and 11 2 not 11 3?

iMac 11 1 shouldn't be causing the problems you're describing.
Yep, go ahead N use the method described.
Look at Lnx2mac's blog for bios settings but leave the Dram voltages alone unless you're using GSkill ECO.

Extract your vanilla dsl using DSDT editor N patcher in windoze.

Upload your dsl here N I'll do my best to help you.

You're doing everything else right so it could just be a bad install?

Can I also use the DSDT Editor in Mac and do I have to perform the steps you described on page 2 of this thread (removing kexts and the DSDT before extracting my dsl):

The DSDT you are using will still extract even if you remove it, if you don't reboot first.

To boot without a DSDT you will need to run easybeast. then remove the npci=0x2000 flag, then remove AHCI3rdParty, Jmicron36xATA, EvoReboot, ALC8xxHDA and BlockStorageInjector, then run System Utilities to sort out permissions.

Doing this will just leave the three kexts mentioned in my previous post.

Reboot and then extract your vanilla dsl.

After you've extracted it, remove LegacyAppleRTC and NullPowerManagement, run System Utilities and run User DSDT with the DSDT I edit for you.
Remove npci=0x2000 as P55/H55 often don't like it!
Just start with ALC8xxHDA, FakeSMC and AHCI3rdParty and see how it goes.

The simplest way in OSX is to remove your existing DSDT, install NullPowerManagement also running system utilities, then reboot before extracting your vanilla dsl.
