[solved] Failed to initialize graphics firmware. Falling back to.. 4K

Hi,

I am seeing a message "Failed to initialize graphics firmware.." when I try to boot with the correct Display-cfg set (x191e0000). I can only boot with x12345678. A couple things to note:

I have a 4K screen.
I have applied the pixel clock patch patch.
I am on 10.12.2.

Would reinstalling with 10.12.5 help? What else can I do?

I also tried what I found in [Solved] Intel HD 515 Graphics under Sierra but it didn't work.

Thanks for the reply, but I'm not sure what I should be reading on here. I see "Skylake Graphics issues" and "Graphics boot glitch patch for 10.12", but neither seem to describe my particular error. I'll continue to read through the thread, but I don't see anything specific to my error yet.

I installed Lilu.kext and IntelGraphicsFixup.kext's with KextBeast as described in https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/macos-10-12-5-update.220866/#post-1504116 but unfortunately it shows the same error.

Also, I updated to Clover 4061 and it made no difference.

Try to boot with an invalid ig-platform-id (use 0x12345678), make sure 'Inject Intel'=true (Yiu can change those settings in the Clover GUI), then rebuild your cache and try to boot normally.

If it doesn't work well, attach a new set of 'problem reporting' files.
