[solved] Clover won't boot from MacOS drive

Hi both :)

This might not be of any use, but back when I tried an ASUS motherboard (H97M-Plus) I discovered a common problem was that some ASUS motherboards would not boot from a GUID format EFI partition (GUID includes the 200MB hidden EFI partition which we usually use to put Clover etc.)

The answer was to use MBR and create an EFI folder on the main drive then set booting to take place from there.

Annoyingly the link in my build (UtterDisbelief 6 - May 7th 2015) is now re-directed so I don't know right now where it's gone.

My link had been: http://www.tonymacx86.com/25-boot0-error-official-guide.html - however this now re-directs to:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/boot0-error-the-official-guide.65706/ - which covers a similar problem but not exactly.

It is possible to install the EFI on your main SSD partition and then use Terminal to make that bootable. It's what I did. But as I say the link is either gone or buried.

However this was installing using Chimera, not Clover.

Interestingly you can now apparently boot MBR using Clover options (ignore my ticks, this is just a quick start-up of Clover for you):

but I could use a hand myself in selecting the right options here without the guide!

My MBR SSD drive is the one I have windows on and I can't write to that one from mac as it's NTFS, or are you saying I should make an EFI partition on another drive, I'm having a bit of trouple understanding what you said, i will try the custom install ticks now though and I cannot install Mac on an MBR drive, its not leting me, also my clover doesnt have the installation type option...

I solved it by adding clover as a boot option through windows using easyUEFI
