Hi
I'm building an audio machine that won't be used for games. It's the GA H270 HD3 | i7 7700 | ???? as seen in my build signature.
I was going to buy a used GT 640 but I also have an MSI GT710 too that's spare. Does anyone know which would be the least hassle? The GT 640 has been 'out of the box' easy with Yosemite and Mountain Lion but I don't know if that's the case with High Sierra. Thanks in advance.

I have Nvidia GT 710 that works perfectly in macOS High Sierra to the latest 10.13.3.

Thanks for that. I'm building the 'Audio' machine this weekend. I'll let you know how I get on.

Mainly because of sharing 'System Memory Bandwidth' mentioned here:http://www.pcgamer.com/gaming-without-a-dedicated-graphics-chip-on-i7-7700k/. I know it's a gaming article, it just popped up from a search.
However, the article describes a GTX1050 as 'the most basic GPU' so I'll adjust what they say accordingly. Main thing though, that means I can get video working and try the card. If there's no big difference, then I can take the card out and do something else with it.
Thanks for your reply!

HD630 should be on the same level between GT630 and GT640 at least in terms of benchmark. If you are not running any game, why would you waste money on a dedicate gpu? Especially the gpu are so expensive currently.

Agree about the GPU prices. I was going to get a GTX1050ti for my 'daily' till I saw the price. In this case though, I already have a GT710 boxed and unused so I don't need to part with any money, now I know it will do the job and this thread has meant that I don't need to find another GT640. Thank you all for that!
